From fading book sales to best seller

I thought you might be interested in the story of author John Shors, based in Denver, Colorado in the US. He wrote a romance novel called Beneath a Marble Sky.

As reported in the US' CBS Evening News (you can see the original story here), Shors was faced with fading book sales.

So he put a note in the paperback edition of his book inviting readers to email him or ask him to their book clubs.

According to Shors, he fields five or six requests a day. Sometimes he attends the book clubs in person, but more often, he talks to book clubs by telephone. He's almost booked out till 2008 and this is driving sales of around 1000 books a week.

At 52,000 copies a year - that's a best seller for sure.
