Win 50 books in ABC competition

It was great to hear from serial student Patrick this morning, who alerted me to this great competition on ABC Classic FM. You write an opening paragraph to a book with the title "The Score" - this is a great exercise for creative writers - and you could win.

Here's what the ABC website says:

From Monday 21 August
The Score

Classic Breakfast is offering you the opportunity to win fifty of the best books on the shelves at the moment, valued at around one thousand dollars. It’s all part of 'Books Alive,' a government funded campaign to encourage more Australians to read and buy books. The organisers of the campaign have created a list of the fifty best books of contemporary fiction chosen by a panel representing the book industry, and we have a set to give away, so they can all be yours!

To win this prize, write the opening paragraph in less than fifty words, to a book with the title, 'The Score.' Paul will read some of the best entries on air.

Send your entries by post to:

The Score
Classic Breakfast, PO Box 2205, Dangar NSW 2309.

The closing date is the 1st of September.
