Getting repeat business as a writer

I was really happy to get this feedback from freelance writer Briar Jensen, who receives my fortnightly newsletter from the Sydney Writers' Centre:

Dear Valerie,

I totally agree with you on the importance of networking for freelancers and wanted to say how much I appreciate the job leads you publish in the Sydney Writers' Centre newsletter (a great networking resource in itself).

I followed up a lead you published in the October 2005 newsletter about a new boating magazine that was looking for another writer. This not only lead to an immediate commission, but an on-going  relationship with the publication.

So thank you!

Briar Jensen, Freelance Writer

Thanks for letting me know Briar. And if anyone else has success with your writing, drop me a line. Also remember that success doesn’t always happen overnight (although sometimes it can).

It can take time to develop your writing career – whether full time or in your spare time. If you follow the tips in this newsletter and put them into practice, you’ll see results.
