The Legend of Kitten Rex

You know that you're baby cat has truly arrived when one of Australia's top jewellery designers is naming a piece of jewellery after him. Rex_the_star_1 That's right - Rex's name is going to be immortalised in a piece of wearable art. Jewellery designer Naomi Britten from Ruby Jam  took one look at Kitten Rex and was so taken by his beauty that she immediately knew she had to create an homage to his good looks.

Naomi is currently creating the piece of work so I don't have a picture of it yet - but I will post it as soon as it's finished. However, insiders say that it's made up of aquamarine stones (to match Kitten Rex's mesmerising blue eyes) and another white or translucent sparkly rock (to match his luxurious coat).

To top is all off, Naomi has already let on that the earrings will be named "The Legend of Kitten Rex". Of course.

Kitten Rex is taking all this new found attention in his stride. For those of you who haven't heard, Australia's top animal agent spied Kitten Rex on his flickr page and he is now represented by her. Kitten Rex has been busy grooming himself (what's new?) and is poised for stardom. The agent has cast animals in numerous movies including dogs and guineas pigs in the movie Jindabyne; many animals in Home and Away, and tonnes of advertisements including ones for Optus, AGL, The Sydney Morning Herald and Levis.
